The Language Project, in collaboration with Translators Without Borders, organized workshops on “Rapid Response Interpreting and Intercultural Mediation.”
The seminars took place from 3 to 15 February 2017 in three Greek cities and targeted professionals working in NGOs on the refugee crisis response.
The aim of the said seminars was the familiarisation with basic notions and principles of intercultural mediation in a humanitarian context. The participants were not only mediators, that had had no previous experience in this field, but also other professionals-users of community interpreting services.
The seminars emphasized on the code of conduct applied for those who work in the field, as well as on the role of intercultural mediators in cases of communication between foreigners and public or private entities in Greece.
